After LeBron James and company mess up against the Warriors in the season opener, the Lakers start to act like clowns.

 


The Los Angeles Lakers' 123-109 road loss to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night was the saddest display that Hollywood could have concocted for Lakers supporters. The Warriors dominated the Lakers on both sides of the court, which gave NBA Twitter the perfect opportunity to make fun of and criticize LeBron James and the Lakers.





With 27 and 31 points, respectively, Anthony Davis and LeBron James led the Lakers, but it was clear that they weren't getting any help from the rest of the team. The only other non-AD starter to score more than five points was Russell Westbrook, who finished with 19 points. Only eight points were scored by Patrick Beverley and Lonnie Walker IV together on 3-of-12 shooting from the field and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc. Overall, the Lakers' outside shooting was abysmal as they only made 10 of their 40 long-range tries. The Warriors, on the other hand, made just 16 of their 34 attempts from beyond the arc.

The 2022–23 NBA season has only begun with one game, and the Lakers still have time to turn things around. However, if the roster stays the same, it also seems like the issues Los Angeles saw in the first game of the season, particularly the team's poor shooting, could continue for a while.


Although LeBron and Davis will continue to bear the most of the weight for the Lakers, the other player needs to do more to keep Los Angeles afloat.


On Thursday, the Lakers' next game is against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ja Morant, a guard with the Grizzlies, was dismissed for "questioning the integrity of the officials."

  Many Memphis Grizzlies and basketball fans expressed their astonishment on social media when Ja Morant was dismissed at the conclusion of the first half on Saturday. Crew head referee John Goble gave an explanation for why Morant earned both of his technical fouls in a pool report following the game. Late in the second quarter, Morant received his first technical foul as he tried to snag a pass and seemed angry that a foul had been called. According to Goble, Morant was given a technical foul for cursing at an official. The most contentious technical was the second one, which resulted in Morant's expulsion. Amar'e Stoudemire, a former NBA star, was reportedly detained after allegedly hitting his daughter.

  According to David J. Neal and David Ovalle of the Miami Herald, former six-time NBA All-Star Amar'e Stoudemire was taken into custody on Sunday on a charge of misdemeanor violence. Stoudemire "punched her in the mouth and smacked her hard enough to draw blood," one of his children told police. The girl had blood stains on her sweatshirt and slacks, the officer noted in their report. Additionally, her mother sent police a picture of her daughter sobbing and with blood streaming down her face. According to Neal and Ovalle, Stoudemire allegedly objected to the way his daughter greeted her grandma at his condo: When the daughter denied having such a tone with her grandmother, she said her father "then responded with 'You're talking back again' and punched her on the right side of her jaw.'
